Sulzer Signs Five-Year Deal With PDVSA to Revive Venezuela's Oil Sector

By Charles Kennedy - Oct 27, 2026,

Swiss industrial engineering company Sulzer has signed a five-year strategic alliance agreement with Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA, positioning itself to benefit from efforts to restore and modernize the country's oil and gas infrastructure.

The agreement establishes a framework for potential future orders across PDVSA's operations, including upstream production, pipelines, refining and fuel distribution.

Sulzer, which has operated in Venezuela for decades, already supplies technologies and equipment services across several parts of PDVSA's oil and gas business.

The new arrangement is expected to build on that relationship as Venezuela seeks to attract investment and improve the performance of its aging energy infrastructure.

The companies did not disclose a financial value for the agreement or announce any guaranteed equipment orders.
