J'avoue que le rebond de la production colombienne m'a pris de court .
Comme je le signalais dans mon post, il y a eu ces dernières années une grosse ruée sur la colombie, suite à un nouveau système fiscal.
Quand une compagnie se voit attiruber un bloc, elle ne sait pas si elle va ^y trouver du pétrole, et a fortiori en quelle quantité. Classiquement, l'accord prévoit que si du pétroleest produit , un gros pourcentage (par ex 55%) revient à l'état.
En colombie c'est une échelle glissante. Si le bloc ne produit qu'une petite quantité de pétrole, quelques centaines de b/j, la part revenant à l'état est très faible. Mais elle grimpe fortement pour des produictions plus grosses.
ainsi les revenus de l'état sont préservés, puisqu'il touche un gros pourcentage sur les grosses production, mais les compagnies sont plus enthousiastes à aller dans le pays, puisque même des découvertes de petite taille peuvent être rentables pour elles.
Quand la colombie a atteind son 1e pic (1999, 830 kbj) l'essentiel de la production venait d'une poignée de géants. Le groupe Cusiana/Cupaigua, a lui seul, a piqué à 310 kb/j en 1998, il faisait donc près de 40% de la production du pays. Il se traine maintenant à des chiffres lamentables, moins de 50 kb/j.
Ses réserves avaient été surévaluées, et la production surdimensionnée. Cuisiana a été découvert en 1991 par une compagnie indépendante américaine, Triton energy Limited (absorbée depuis par Amerada Hess*), ils avaient annoncé 3 Gb de réserves, ce qui avait fait flamber l'action à l'époque. Ca tombait bien, la boite perdait des sous, son action était au plus bas...
Résultat réel : le gisement a produit moins de 1Gb jusqu'ici et aura du mal à dépasser ce seuil.
Maintenant le plus gros producteur est Rubiales, en amazonie. Il sort 100 000 b/j. Son pétrole est si lourd qu'il faut le mélanger à du naphta ou des condensats pour qu'il puisse couler dans un oléoduc.
mais surtout la production est bien plus diverse. Fini les géants; actuellement la production colombienne remonte grace à une foule de petits champs produisant chacuns quelques milliers de b/j, quelques dizaine de milliers pour quelques uns.
Un schéma classique finalement.
